oversees, manages and serves as the main point of contact for all
facility-related operations and activities at the museum.
Facilities can include, but is not limited to: the museum building,
supporting the production team in any requested capacity, mobile
food truck(s), warehouse(s), containers or pop-up structures. -The
Facilities Manager will be responsible for preserving the good
condition of infrastructure and ensuring that all site facilities
are safe, organized, and well-functioning. Another key
responsibility will be to optimize the use of facilities spaces and
related equipment while proactively seeking efficiencies to deliver
satisfactory operating costs within guidelines.The Facilities
Manager will work to ensure that operations meet and exceed the
guidelines of our brand and industry standards, comply with health
and food safety regulations, and set Museum of Ice Cream apart
while remaining true to the organizational values and goals, as
defined by the General Manager and Operations Leadership Team.In
fulfilling your roles and responsibilities as a manager, it is also
expected that you uphold and model our culture, values and
standards of conduct.Your day-to-day:FACILITIES & PROJECT
MANAGEMENT
- Identify, diagnose, and address day-to-day maintenance repairs
& issues involving museum assets including electrical, plumbing,
construction and other miscellaneous equipment
- Develop a plan for ongoing maintenance and improvement in
building management, including recurring or common issues -
- Ensure 100% compliance with health and safety laws &
provisions
- Provide daily reports with detailed plan of action
- Document and provide visibility to the Director of Facilities
of damage or issues with the site or facilities
- Participate and support management of special projects as
required to improve the museum and its facilities
- Create and maintain an active database of vendors and
contractors necessary for day-to-day operations, building repairs &
facilities improvements
- Relationship management of all vendors + contractors including
contract negotiation for projects and timely & accurate
invoicing
- Act as liaison and maintain a healthy partnership with
contractors and management while managing and ensuring timely
completion of all contracted work SHOW QUALITY ASSURANCE &
MAINTENANCE -
- Oversee all technical aspects of the Museum's art/object
handling projects
- Operates, maintains and safeguards the technical assets of the
Museum, including supervising the use of lighting, sound,
communications equipment, and the use and maintenance of stage
facilities
- Assists with the preparation and control of production
budgets;
- Coordinate and foster productive relationships with suppliers
and contractors
- Assist in hiring, scheduling, and overseeing technical team of
preparators / art handlers for reset days and installations
- Coordinate receiving, packing & unpacking, handling,
exhibition, organization, and storage of various elements
- Provide guidance on preparation work needed prior to
installation periods in addition to on the floor supervision during
installation periods
- Training all staff on technical applications involved in reset
days and installation periods
- Acting as point of contact for current museum standards,
maintaining all finishes in the space at a very high level
- Maintaining full inventory of tools and tool carts for resets
and installations; maintaining necessary inventory and orders
specialized supplies to suit the needs of the Clean Team and
special projects
- Ensures a safe and healthy work environment through knowledge
and execution of best practices
- Assist in planning and coordinating with vendors in the
fabrication of exhibition objects, temporary walls, and other
display elements
- Participate and support management of special projects as
required to improve quality and maintenance of site CHANGES MADE TO
SPACE
- Communicate all physical changes to Facilities and Production
leadership for visibility and approvals in order to keep all units
uniform.
- Participate in constructive dialogue regarding process
improvements with Facilities and Production leadership DAILY
OPERATIONS & LEADERSHIP
- Support the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of Clean Team
members to meet staffing targets and scheduling needs of the
museum
- Lead weekly/bi-weekly training as needed to support Clean Team
operations
- Managing on-site Clean Team members across multiple dayparts
who execute our processes for cleaning operations
- Identifying, owning and managing opportunities for continuous
improvement of Facilities and Operations
- Provide support and leadership presence at Museum across all
dayparts and weekends as needed, including as a Manager on Duty as
needed
- Provide on-site coordination for delivery shifts, including
weekends as needed
- Completing & filing daily reports and maintaining building
inspections
- Completing maintenance and preventative maintenance tickets
quickly and on time throughout daily operations and any designated
'Reset' days
- Support and install seasonal creative elements as required for
the museum in coordination with the Production team
- Coordinate with Director of Facilities in preparing the space
for monthly building inspections The necessities and nice-to-haves:
- Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant
position
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities
management best practices
- Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bilingual a
plus!)
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Good analytical/critical thinking
- Familiarity with heavy equipment
- Must be comfortable maintaining a high standard and holding a
team accountable Salary Range: $55,000-$70,000Museum of Ice Cream
