Job Description:

Leads the Meat team, overseeing daily operations, profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.

• Holds ATLs, supervisors, and Team Members accountable for customer service.
• Makes hiring and separation decisions with Store Leadership.
• Monitors and achieves sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
• Prepares operating budget and manages ordering and inventory.
• Establishes and maintains vendor relationships.
• Stays aware of competitors and industry trends.
• Sets and achieves retail execution standards.
• Fosters teamwork, respect, and exceptional morale.
• Directs Team Members to satisfy and delight customers.
• Selects, trains, and develops Team Members.
• Communicates and maintains Team Member safety and security standards.
• Provides performance evaluations.Required Skills:
  • Knowledge of competitors and industry trends.
  • Advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • Food safety certification.
  • Certified Meat Journeyman or equivalent training.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
  • Thorough product knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
  • Proficient mathematical skills.
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability and leadership skills.Experience: 24+ months of retail experience, including 12+ months of team leadership experience.Physical Requirements:
    • Lift 50 pounds.
    • Stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
    • Use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
    • Perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
    • Work in a wet and cold environment.
    • Handle knives and other cutting equipment.
    • Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
