Bakery Department Supervisor Job DescriptionAssists with the scheduling and supervision of Team Members as well as with the day-to-day flow of the department. Oversees and maintains compelling bakery, coffee, and juice displays. Supports the Bakery Team Leader and Associate Team Leader(s) to ensure smooth operation of the Bakery Team.Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises and delegates tasks to Bakery Team Members, ensuring a positive work environment and promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Trains Team Members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover, utilizing learning checklists and training materials.
  • Keeps all cases and shelves clean and well-stocked, while ensuring proper rotation of products to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Opens and closes department according to established procedures, ensuring a seamless transition between shifts.
  • Ensures all necessary breaks are given, promoting a healthy work-life balance for Team Members.
  • Communicates team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader, fostering open communication and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Sets and achieves the highest standards of retail execution, maintaining a clean and well-organized store environment.
  • Fosters a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
  • Maintains awareness of customer flows and needs, directing Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, responding promptly to customer needs and questions.
  • Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Provides timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, promoting growth and development for Team Members.

    • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications, utilizing technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.Experience
      • 12+ months retail experience, with a proven track record of success in a supervisory or lead role.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
        • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, ensuring the ability to perform physical tasks and maintain a safe work environment.
        • In an 8-hour work day, standing/walking 6-8 hours, with regular breaks to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
        • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, ensuring the ability to perform tasks with precision and dexterity.
        • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching, ensuring the ability to perform physical tasks with ease and flexibility.
        • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
        • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit, ensuring the ability to work in a variety of environments.
        • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions, ensuring the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
        • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed, to meet business demands.
        • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery, ensuring the ability to perform tasks with precision and safety.
