Specialist in the Controllers Organization of Corporate Finance,

Investment Accounting area, you will be a key contributor on the
team that manages and executes investment accounting and analysis,
including oversight of financial reporting outcomes of all
MassMutual investment products. You will thrive in a highly dynamic

Investment Controllership team is a high-profile team in the
Controllers organization, comprised of accountants who oversee our
various asset classes and investment activity. The team continues
to grow in support of our growing level of assets, key initiatives,
and special projects. Our team has high business acumen and is
driven to provide timely and accurate financial information to our

Impact:As a Data Analyst in our Investments Accounting area, you
will help in the accurate, timely completion of monthly, quarterly,
and annual accounting close cycles for complex investment
accounting by effectively planning, monitoring, and
problem-solving. You will contribute to the completion of the
investment accounting of financial transactions ensuring accuracy
and compliance with accounting regulations. This includes working
with big data, visualization, analytics, presentation, and
oversight of yield and performance across all asset types including
fixed income, alternative investment, and subsidiaries. Your
daily/monthly responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
the following:
- Develop comprehensive data analysis and expectations of
investment return and performance by major and minor asset types
and perform flux analysis and provide insight into variance.
- Analyze trends and results, use strong business acumen and
communication skills collaborating with peers and the financial
reporting team to draft and contribute to commentary which enables
readers to quickly understand how performance is impacting
financial results.
- Support the Controller & Financial reporting team in providing
accounting information such as financial statements, footnote
schedules, regulatory reports, and other management reports.
- Effectively collaborate with accounting policy, the Chief
Investment office, tax, financial reporting capital management, and
business unit controllers.
- Lead the research and implementation of new GAAP investment
accounting requirements and determine the accounting process for
new investments and investment-related transactions.
- Use professional insight to identify and implement accounting
improvements that increase the business value and efficiency of the
team. Initiate and/or lead increasingly complex projects and
continuous improvement activities that may span beyond the scope of
the team's responsibilities. Responsible for leading
problem-solving to improve quality, close cycle times, increase
efficiencies, improve employee engagement, and customer
satisfaction.The Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of data analytics, performance measurement,
accounting, or financial reporting experience in Assets Management
or Financial Services industry
- 1+ years of investment accounting experienceThe Ideal
Qualifications
- Prior exposure to investment accounting, subsidiary ledger
processing, and related investment matters a plus!
- CPA/CFA or progress towards preferred
- Experience working on big data, logical analytics, and ratio
analysis and presentation in identifying internal control issues
and remediation efforts.
- Preferred experience working with and supporting several
corporate units.
- Preferred experience working in a Lean Six Sigma environment
with strong root cause problem-solving experience.
- Ability to partner with and influence business leaders and
peers in investment process redesign and improvements.
- Experience using investment data and information to analyze and
communicate the implications of investment accounting and ERP tools
(SAP, Hyperion, NetSuite, etc.).
- Intellectual curiosity to continue learning and adding breadth

benefits.Salary Range: $99,800.00-$131,000.00At MassMutual, we
